Results of numerical and experimental investigations a novel inertial piezoelectric rotary type motor based on low profile stator with trapezoidal waveguides. The proposed has simple design is well scalable. Moreover, the allows mount it printed circuit board use in small-size mobile positioning actuating systems. structure square hollowed steel frame four straight waveguides that are used to transfer vibrations rotation rotor. Piezo ceramic plates glued both sides stator. thickness assembled 0.9 mm, while total area needed for mounting does not exceed 625 mm2. driving rotor stick-slip principle, which induced by excitation second in-plane bending mode bimorph applying two saw tooth waveform signals phase difference π. investigation was carried out validate operation principle measure mechanical electrical characteristics. maximum angular speed 1304 RPM achieved at resonance frequency 44.81 kHz when preload 7.35mN applied.
